James Madsen owner of James Barton Design Build of Apple Valley Minnesota believes in giving back to his home town community. This is the fourth year James has contributed to his companies Scholarship Program. James thinks the Scholarship Program is very important as it helps Huron graduates pursue a higher education.

This year the recipient for the Community Scholarship Program is Andrew Manolis. Andrew will be attending Mitchell Technical Institute majoring in Architectural Design and Building Trades. Andrew is the son of Todd and Tricia Manolis of Huron. To be eligible for the scholarship students must have taken at least one class in the trades through tech school. These classes are taught through the high school’s vocational program. Eligible students must also have plans to pursue a post-secondary construction trade, such as production management, carpentry, electrical, architectural drafting or construction design.

James was a 1985 graduate of Huron High School and is the son of Esther and Kenny Madsen who still reside in Huron.
